Plus minus is a team stat

+/- is a worthless stat when you play in a bad team. In Karlsson defence, if you only count 5v5 he’s +/- 0. Best in Sharks, and the second best defender was – 30… Add his 100 + points, and you cant’t be other than impressed.

Plus/Minus is a 5v5 statistic so you’re saying he was on the ice for 26 short-handed goals? Points is a worthless stat when you’re playing for nothing except yourself every night.

He was on for over 20 empty net goals against. He was a + player at 5V5

This is how easily you get embarrassed? Weak. Also seems that you don’t really understand hockey.

21 empty net against- 4 empty net for -26 = -9 net P/M. Also was on the ice for 126 even strength goals against which is absurd. Great player but he played exhibition pond hockey the whole year.

That’s not a good way of looking at it. Of his total plus/minus rating, -17 of that was a result of empty netters. That is a ridiculous number and nobody is going to base somebody off of that. Now I don’t think it’s a good stat anyways since it’s more based off of caliber of team rather than individual performance, but a -9 is a way more respectable number if you value that stat, especially as the guy who handles the most minutes on a bottom feeder. And again, its worth remembering that the Sharks out scored the opponent at even strength while he was on the ice.

Call it the Paul Coffey Award and it just give it to guy who scores the most points. Keep the Norris and have it be best all around defenseman.

I think Gretz’ is advocating for an award named after Bobby Orr, regarding points scored by a defenseman.

Anyone else find it insensitive that they did multiple drinking bits within 2-3 segments of Jim Montgomery’s shoutout to getting clean after a bout with alcoholism?

Really? Maybe you are too sensitive. Enough already from you and your clan of thin skins who are ready to whine about everything.
