NHL Targeting October 12 Start For The 2021-22 Season

April 21, 2021 at 7:54 pm CDT | by Brian La Rose 10 Comments

There has been an expectation that the NHL would look to have an abbreviated offseason this summer in an effort to try to get back to more of a normal calendar for the 2021-22 campaign.  It appears that this is indeed the case as Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic reports (Twitter link) that general managers were told in today’s meeting that October 12th has been set as the target start date for next season.

That would be only about a week later than the normal start date which would allow them to get back to more of a regular schedule.  Doing so also would allow them to hold close to a full-length training camp with LeBrun noting that the target date for those is September 22nd assuming there are no further delays to the schedule (or anything happen over the summer to change those plans).

At the beginning of this season, the plan was to hold the Entry Draft on July 23rd and 24th with free agency starting up on the 28th.  Considering the regular season schedule has been pushed back a couple of times since then, it’s uncertain if those will remain intact or get pushed back slightly.  Either way, with already less than a two-month gap between the original start to free agency and the desired start of training camps, it should be a quicker-paced offseason than it was last year.

Nope, sorry…..the 18th mutation of covid will peak by next October and the lockdowns will continue. The office of Pandemia has spoken. ;)

If mouth breathers and Flat Earthers keep refusing the vaccine, that remains a possibility, albeit unlikely.

More likely, by then everyone who wants a vaccine will have gotten it, things will open up and then it’s Darwin time.

2021-2022 will most likely open as scheduled, barring a delay in the conclusion of the 2021 playoffs.

You may want to do some research of retransmission rates among those receiving these vaccines and the side effects thay many have experienced from them before you pontificate about flat earthers and mouth breathers.

My guess is you didn’t predict that your provinces would still have curfews and lockdowns over a year after the initial “15 days to flatten the curve”.

You’d guess wrong. I knew all along the timeline would be based on vaccination. As it remains today.

1 in a million women of child bearing years have experienced issues with blood clots. Guess what causes way more unexpected blood clots in otherwise healthy people than that? Begins with a C and ends with a 19.

600,000-ish people have had an even worse side effect from it, too.

I can link to dozens of articles like this, but here’s just one of them. If you think a vaccine was pulled due to 6 reports of blood clot issues, then I have a bridge to sell you in NY.

Why would anyone get a vaccine that was “created” in just 9 months. It’s moronic. Especially for something that was so overblown by the media.

Let us know when that 3rd ball grows in from it.

      Idiot
