I think we can safely say Carter Hart’s career is over. I think the case against him is still proceeding, but word on the street – I live in London, where he is being tried – is that none of the defendants look good.
So in this day and age with media, social media, and internet message boards there’s actually “word on the street” that us peons/non-locals are not privy to?
Oh, absolutely. You see it literally every day in hockey coverage. There’s lots of, “A scout I spoke to said…” Which scout? You’ll never know. Quite often, the most important information is strictly word of mouth; off the record. This is why a lot of politicians seem like BS artists – there’s the public information, and there’s the private information.
The defendants defense proposed that there were texts saying the victim consented… the problem is, there’s footage of her and one of the defendants at the bar, and she was intoxicated, immediately throwing consent out the window.
All of em are done, and rightfully so, they raped the victim.
It doesn’t immediately throw consent out the window, it depends on her state of being. Was she unconscious or otherwise incapacitated?
In Canada, consent can be withdrawn at literally any time. You have that right. As it should be.
Suprprised Jacob Bryson did not get a QO as he played pretty well during second half of season. Guess Kevyn Adams has to look like he’s doing something at the office.
