Third Colorado Avalanche Player Tests Positive For COVID-19

April 7, 2020 at 3:02 pm CDT | by Gavin Lee 9 Comments

The NHL has announced that a third player from the Colorado Avalanche has tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement, the league reports that the player is in self-isolation and has not had close contact with any other Avalanche players or staff members. This makes eight players that have tested positive, three from the Avalanche and five from the Ottawa Senators.

Of note, the Senators and Avalanche played in San Jose on consecutive nights after the county of Santa Clara recommended against large gatherings. The Avalanche also played in the Staples Center the night before the Brooklyn Nets—who had multiple players test positive—and two nights before the Senators. Obviously there is no way of telling exactly how or when the virus was transmitted to the Avalanche player.

As with all of the other announcements, the player’s name was not included.

@Ol Voodoo – Strange that if you go in through the English side, the Sports section articles don’t match up, as though the person assigned to English translation is “on break”, so to speak… I spent a little bit of time, but couldn’t find an alternative source myself, so I guess we’ll have to wait for an NHL-certified version…

Not NHL certified but read this morning. Finally remember which familiar name was mentioned and looked him up. Blackhawks prospect Joni Tuulola for the record.

      Stay safe everyone.

You know, I was afraid that was the gist of the article, but was saying out loud, “No, no, no…” That article you cite confirms “Yes, yes, yes.” Just a Mickey Mouse “solution”, with no legitimacy. They should save some time and flip a coin for each “game.” Same illegitimacy, same asterisks…

Mac don’t know if this helps as on few other sites were people are from other countries if you right click your mouse or whichever device you use , a box will appear and it has Translate To English , don’t know if this works in this format will look at it later.
My thoughts and prayers again go out to the players affected by this coronavirus , players families , teammates and Colorado and Ottawa organizations and fans, Get well soon hope to see you back on ice soon.

Unfortunately, I’m using customized Firefox with an industrial-strength ad-blocker, so I don’t get the translate box. Usually I look at links at the top and mouse-over them to see if there is a clue, but that was a no-go, as well. Temporarily turning off the ad-blocker doesn’t help, either, I’m afraid.
