2018 NHL Awards Recap

The NHL Awards were held Wednesday night and some interesting choices were made for the trophies. Below are the award winners, finalists and voting totals where applicable (via the PHWA unless otherwise noted):

Ted Lindsay Award – Most Outstanding Player (as voted by the players)

Winner: Connor McDavid (Oilers)
Runners-Up:  Taylor Hall (Devils), Nathan MacKinnon (Avalanche)

Norris Trophy – Top Defenseman

Winner: Victor Hedman (Lightning)
Runners-Up:  Drew Doughty (Kings), P.K. Subban (Predators)

    Hall deserved it. As did Mckinnon. McKinnon had lando and Rantannan though. Hall didn’t really have anyone and was significantly higher in points than the next best Devil.

      Hall only had 1 more point than Anze. Kopitar had Dustin Brown and Iafalo as his wingers

        Kings have Doughty, Carter, Quick, and solid B-level players (Toffoli, Pearson).

        Not one all-star compliment for Hall.

        Just saying.

            Yes but hall pretty much carried the team into the playoffs, whereas the Mings have a solid and complete team with multiple people pulling them along

    As a Ranger fan I have to say the Devil deserved the Hart trophy. And if a Ranger says that it’s probably true.
