Islanders really laid an egg last night
Doc Halladay
Seidenberg should be one of the most coveted defenders at the deadline if he’s available. Pretty much every contender can easily fit him under the cap without issue and he has loads of playoff experience. I wouldn’t be surprised if he managed to net the Islanders a late 1st rounder, a prospect and maybe a late conditional pick. Wouldn’t be a bad return on a $1 million investment.

He’ll bring in a nice haul, yeah. But if a team offers a first rounder and top prospect for him, the Islanders should make that deal in a heartbeat, even if they win every game leading up to the deadline. That’s a high price to pay for a 35-year-old with injury history and only 17 points. Yet, in one of the slowest trade markets of all-time that is dominated by the few sellers, you may just be right on the price.

If you really think a team is going to give up a 1st rounder for Sidenburg, a player who is one hit away from retirement, then you better lay off the kook-aid. Remember who he plays for when assessing his improved play….of course he’s going to look good! He’s a rent a player who is lucky to pull in a 2nd rounder (late 2nd rounder) at best !
