I completely disagree with Seravelli. I don’t think there is any way Shattenkirk would sign an extension with Edmonton because I believe he has no intentions on playing on the west coast. Yes Edmonton has an excellent young nucleus, but that isn’t necessarily the most important thing to Shattenkirk. He’s an East coast guy. He’s from New York. He went to college in Boston. I’d say it almost a lock that he signs with an East coast team.

I’m not sure I’d categorize Edmonton as “west coast”

the team that signs shattenkirk is going to be signing the next bad contract. he is not a number one defensemen.

I agree that he’s not a number one defenseman. He’s not a top pair d-man. He doesn’t play that role in St. Louis. He’s a 2nd pair guy. He’s going to get paid because teams pay for puck moving defensemen. Keith Yandle got $6.35 million a season for 7 years. Shattenkirk is a better player than Yandle. Some team is going to give him big money

Pls don’t not trade for him Rangers. Just sign him in the offseason.
