I know Kypreos is doing his job and he’s gotten MUCH better at doing it over the past few years. But I really wish he wouldn’t have named Montreal in that Shattenkirk segment. I like Shattenkirk, he’s a good player but he’s not what Montreal needs. They already have $23 million committed this season to Markov, Emelin, Weber and Petry with the latter two already occupying the top 2 RHD spots in the lineup. If Shatty were a lefty, then he’ll yeah bring him in but he’s not a lefty.
Unless the Blues were willing to do something around Petry plus something for an extended Shattenkirk, the deal just wouldn’t make any sense for Montreal. The Habs need to allocate any remaining cap space to either a top pair LD or a 2nd line centre.

While Toronto needs defensive help, I’m not sure they’d be willing to part with a talented young forward to get him. I still think that Shattenkirk will end up with the Rangers or Boston in the off-season
