work on his stopping? is blashill stupid?

Yes, work on his stopping. That means slowing things down a little bit so that he is defensively responsible. Larkin uses his speed all the time. He always goes full speed ahead. That doesn’t work all the time in the NHL. Sometimes in the NHL, you have to stop in your own zone to make a defensive play. You need to get in the shooting lane or passing lane to break up an attack. You need to stop & step into a player carrying the puck. Larkin is still learning how to do that & when he doesn’t, it shows at the NHL level.
