Tatar is a hard player to gauge in terms of trade value. He’s affordable right now but only has one more year of RFA eligibility, which will likely cost $4.5-$5 million. His production decline is concerning, especially on the power play where he has just a single point despite having ample TOI with the man advantage. His shooting percentage is lower than his career standard but is in no way low enough to explain his career low pace for points.
I think we have to call a spade a spade and confirm that Tatar is more of a 20 goal/40 point middle 6 forward than a near 30 goal/55 point top 6 forward.

The Red Wings are a team of middle six forwards.
