If I were McQuaid I would turn and punch the ref if someone hurts my teammate with a cheap dirty hit I would retaliate but if the ref holds me back and the other guy gets multiple shots at me with out the ability to defend myself i would be furious. I would have snapped at that point and just punched the ref, if they are going to stop a fight they need to stop both guys at once not one so the other guy decides he has an opportunity to land some cheap shots. In my opinion Carrier and the ref should be suspended and or fined but nothing to McQuaid.

If you haven’t noticed there is no discipline for this CLEAN but HARD hit. There was no head contact and not boarding. This is hockey people, and last i checked it’s allowed to cleanly hit someone.

Blindside and shoulder makes contact to head. Although it might not be the principle point of contact, it looks like the type of hit the NHL is trying to get out of the game.

Good piece about McQuaid. The linesmen didn’t even step in at the same time, and don’t forget that McQuaid just had a similar situation happen to him in Columbus.
The problem is, now this isn’t over and the Bruins might be out hunting for Carrier next time they play. Would not be surprised to see a cheap shot taken, unfortunately.

Bruins don’t do cheap shots we square up and will fight him, we are above all the cheap shot stuff
