2 Canadian teams is lame, regardless of how much depth they have. Why should they get two chances to win it? Team Europe I don’t mind because it has players from countries who didn’t qualify (France, Germany, Switzerland, etc.), rather than just players who couldn’t make their country’s main team like Team North America. Ideally there would be more depth in terms of individual countries, but frankly I’d rather have weaker teams like Germany and Switzerland in it than a second Canada team or another Team North America.

Hate to ruin your rant but if you did any actual research, you’d know that 10 of the 23 players on North America are actually American, 11 if you want to count Sean Couturier who is a dual citizen but was born in Arizona. The sole purpose of the North American team is to showcase the great young talent North America is producing, not be “Canada 2” as you put it.

Agreed. And most of the American players on Team North America (like Brandon Saad, Jonny Gaudreu, or Jack Eichel) might’ve of been options for Team USA if available. Team North America is mainly designed to give the younger players a chance who otherwise might not if they weren’t automatically qualified for Team North America (Schiefele, MacKinnon) for example.

Did you even read the post? Hate to ruin YOUR rant, but it was the post that mentioned the possibility of a Canada 2. I’m well aware that Team North America also has Americans on it. And why do you constantly respond to your own comments as if you’re not the same person? We can see your name you know…
