Krug ‘s $5.25 mil “too pricey to fit into Winnipeg ‘s budget” ….. please. They were prepared to pay Trouba that much. If Krug is available, make the deal. Same cash, same asset.

Trading Krug for Trouba makes no sense for Boston. Yes, the Bruins could use Trouba, but not at the expense of one of the best defensemen. Krug is the best passer of the Bruins defensemen. He is the best at make the transition pass out of his own zone. If the Bruins trade Krug for Trouba, they create one hole by filling another. That doesn’t make the defense any better. The Bruins need to keep Krug. Also, Morissey has played well for the Jets in Trouba’s absence. Maybe the Jets would re-consider what they want. Maybe they would take a center & a defense prospect instead. If the Bruins can get Trouba for that price, then make the deal. If Krug is the cost, then the Bruins shouldn’t make the deal and just give Carlo & O’Gara a run.
